IDLE
Idle Garage + Gallery is an initiative that is focusing into bringing together young people, rookies and new collectors to a vibrant local art scene that is focusing on drawing, seen as a primary and dynamic medium in contemporary culture. Our art store is currently based in Bucharest, Romania. Through a sustained effort, it provides a much needed incipient infrastructure designed to help local artists bring to fruition their ideas and projects. An important strand of the gallery program is the organization of exhibitions resulting from open-calls addressed to artists.

The director, ALINA BUCUR studied contemporary art and visual media with journalism at UEL London and worked in the art field since her graduation for different independent and public art institutions: gallery manager for Vegas Gallery in London (2009—2012), office manager for Frieze Art Fair in 20111 and in 2012 Alina returned to Bucharest to work in the curatorial research department of the National Museum of Contemporary Art.
During a period of 3 years (2014-2017) Alina was part of the team of Salonul de proiecte in Bucharest. She now runs Idle in tandem with a learning center for early education.
